North Devon has a varied landscape from rolling countryside hills and valleys, to rugged cliffs and golden sands. You will be sure to find something to do for all ages and no shortage of places to explore.

Stunning Beaches

This part of the Westcountry has so much to offer; the amazing golden coastline, beaches of Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde, Saunton, Westward Ho! are the most dramatic and beautiful beaches you can find in the area.

All offer fantastic days out, a range of water sports options, surfing, kite surfing, and all of our beaches are ‘dog friendly’.


Walking and Cycling
Miles and miles of stunning coastal footpaths for keen walkers, and the popular Tarka Trail for cycling, walking or gentle strolls with your dogs.

Exmoor National Park, Lynton and Lynmouth, Valley of the Rocks, Porlock, Doone Valley, Malmsmead, the adventures are endless.


Towns to explore
Old port and market towns of Barnstaple and Bideford offer shops, restaurants, cafe’s, unique weekly pannier markets.

Ilfracombe offers boat trips, cafe’s, restaurants, shops, pubs in abundance along with the much acclaimed ‘Verity’ statue by famous artist Damien Hirst.

Lundy Island – day trips to the island can be taken from the boats leaving Bideford and Ilfracombe harbours.

Golf courses in abundance locally – Royal North Devon course at Northam Burrows, Saunton, Ilfracombe Golf Club, Chulmleigh, Libbaton and Portmore.


Historic Houses and Gardens
Arlington Court, run by the National Trust has a beautiful house to explore and extensive gardens and grounds to walk or simply have a picnic by the lake.

The Royal Horticultural Society’s Rosemoor Gardens, located in Great Torrington, are a North Devon favourite. An essential visit for anyone who appreciates the colour and beauty of wonderful garden planting. Set in the Torridge valley, this 40-acre site has enormous variety and interest.The garden also offers an exciting and diverse range of over 70 events each year, for all the family. Events include exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, guided walks, lectures, musical events, a dedicated Family weekend in August and the September Festival. Facilities include a restaurant and tea room.

Marwood Hill Gardens is beautiful 20 acre private garden with three lakes and set in a valley tucked away in North Devon – only 4 miles from Barnstaple.
